LOL told my 15y/o I was gonna sell him on here. He is homeschooled (all 3 of my sons are or were) and today we made granola for his cooking class. Now the stinker keeps sneaking in to eat it. It's a huge batch of honey almond date granola and its "supposed" to last at least a week or two and the stinker keeps going into the kitchen. He told me he was eating the tidbits left on the baking sheet then I find him with his hand in the bag. I told him if I caught him one more time I was putting up for sale here as a cage cleaner and he went and took another piece. So figured would give the parents here and anyone else who has ever dealt with the appetite of a 15y/o boy a good laugh.

Ha....I remember when my kids were 15 and always wanted to snack.

I'd make him do up another batch....and then freeze it or something (put it where he can't find it..if that is possible).

By the way - we homeschooled all 12 years - and loved it.

All 3 of my boys love to cook and I honestly think that if we hadn't homeschooled they would not have learned. He's my baker though and I pretty much am just giving him a hard time. There is nothing bad for him in it and I'd rather have him snacking on that than pre-packaged cookies. I did tell him though that he better not finish it off as it is part of breakfast for the week (yogurt with homemade granola and blueberries mixed in which is one of their favorites) and that if he ate it all he'd be buying more almonds, honey and vanilla out of his own pocket to help make another batch. Silly thing is...I caught him checking his wallet. I do know though that he'd make another batch. He wants to make honey walnut raisin granola now....good thing we like it :)

Oh and the recipe is very kid friendly taste wise which helps if you have young kids :)

Hehe, my brother is always eating! Like none stop eating machine, and still as thin as a pin! He is so tall so I think that is where it all goes lol! He is 13 and just passed me out in height, and I'm 5ft 7''

Oh and by the way, in your avatar you lookvery like my Mother lol!

Hmm... does he clean rooms? And he cooks, you say?

I'll let him follow me to all of my classes. I don't have much to offer in the way of monetary gains, but if you're just looking to get him off your hands...

LOL yah he cooks, he cleans, he knows how to do laundry, dishes etc. The joys of being homeschooled. He is also quite proficient in yard work, animal care and minor home repair. Oh and he's a very good young author :)

LOL - i bake a lot and my rule is that anything is given half an hours existance once it comes out of the oven. after that it tends to be a bit of a free for all.....

Sounds like my son, minus the author part. Mine's more math and physics :)
Wasn't homeschooled either though, but all my kids went to Waldorf School. Plus they did have chores at home.

Given his appetite, it's a good thing he cooks ;) I have a 13-yr old boy and he also likes to cook and EAT! One sandwich is a snack? Two is a meal? At least it's granola and not chips or ice cream.

OH crud now I am scared..both my kids 9 and 4 eat like horses...OH no what am I going to do in 6 years...Wheres the paddle??

My brother never, ever stops eating!!! He is really thin (he plays sports alot though), but when he gets home he eats everything!

Before his dinner he would have 2 slices of toast, an apple, crisps, biscuits then his (big) dinner!
