Well actually she always seems to have gas. It never seems to bother her. She eats great, binkies, plays, races and lays all stretched out. But she always seems to have smelly gas. Is this normal. She is nine months old three quarters checkered giant a quarter standard rex. She weighs roughly 14 pounds ya I know she is fat. Also any help trimming her down a bit? Should I do anything about the gas?

Hay is excellent for bunnies and you're right it shouldn't be limited. Just checking though, what sort of hay is it? Alfalfa is more fattening than grass hay like Timothy.

Most veg is great, fruit is slightly more fattening but shouldn't be much of a issue if your not feeding pellets.

I would think the treats might be the issue here ;) What do you use for treats? Some of the commercial ones are really high fat! Swapping out for something healthy might help with weight loss. Maybe you could get some herb pots and gives sprigs of those for treats?

Exercise is the other factor. Bunnies are built for spending quite a lot of the day ambling around grazing so if she's quite lazy inbetween her moments of bouncing, encouraging her to move about more will help with weight loss.

Ya she is rather lazy in between bouncy sessions. Plus yes she is still eating alfalfa :( but only because I wanted to finish off the rest before switching to timothy. Craisons are here favorite she also likes banana chips and fruit. She does get more treats then needed. She begs all my guests and they pass the treat bag. I will cut the treats and switch to timothy. What about the gas?

If you mix the Timothy in with alfalfa you will gradually decrease the calories and use up the bag so it doesn't go to waste :)

Smelly gas is a bit unusual, if that's the only symptom (her poop levels are normal etc.) then I would wait and see whether the changes to her diet make any difference before worry too much.

For treats, you could have a box of vegetable bits in the fridge or similar. Hand feeding is a good way to make friends and I'm sure it's helped make her confident about strangers, it's just a case of swapping to healthier options :)

What do you mean by gas? Does it smell like human gas? Also, she has probably recently reached sexual maturity which makes them have a very distinct and strong smell. Is it onion-y and musky?
