Fractured toe in Hind leg!

Has anyone ever dealt with their bunny fracturing their toe? I was wondering how long did it take to heal And if it did heal? It has only been a week since it happened and Bunny has chewed off the splint wrap/bandage. We are taking him back tomorrow to get checked again and rewrapped!
I am just wondering what the time frame was for healing . I know it can vary from situation to situation or from bun to bun. I am just hoping we don’t need to get toe amputated!

My previous bunny suffered from head tilt that would cause him to roll over many times despite us putting rolled towels along each side of his cadge , we didn’t realize we had to wrap his low lying metal food bowl too with towels (which after this incident we switch it to a very low lying plastic bowl). He must of rolled and end up fracturing his foot over night because the next morning he wasn’t feeling himself(despite the chronic head tilt) and had a fever and swollen foot. We took him to the vet and they put on a splint cast thing after X-rays. I believe it took about 3 to 4 weeks for it to heal completely. I think your bunny will be better in a few more weeks. Keep getting it changed/replaced after a week on and or if it falls off (unfortunately the casts aren’t always bunny proof) . As long as you don’t see any open wounds and or major discoloration I don’t think the foot/toe will need amputation. I hope your bunny recovers!
