Sophie's Humble Servant

Hi guys,

I just looked in Sophies litter pan and there were a couple of cecal clusters along with a few poops.

Should I be concerned? And what does this mean? I tried offering them to her but she wouldn't eat them. I took away her greens and pellets just now.

Arrrgh I'm worried and stressed out now, this has never happened before. She's acting normally otherwise.

I don't think you should worry. They say uneaten cecals are a sign the diet is too rich and she is not getting enough fibre from hay, so its a sign you should feed less pellets and more hay. So I would just reduce pellets down to less than she usually eats so she will make up the difference by eating more hay. If you still see Cecals the next day then reduce her pellets down even more so she will eat even more hay. So, more hay is the answer.

So I wonder why this would suddenly be an issue? I only give her 1/8 c of pellets per day and she's a really good hay eater..her diet hasn't changed.

There haven't been any more cecals so I'm not as worried as yesterday but I still find it strange.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it continues to happen and/or the cecals aren't formed properly and are mushy. She may have just got distracted and left them uneaten, which will happen on occasion.

Ok, thanks guys:)

I always get nervous when my pets do something out of the ordinary, so its always reassuring to hear from others with experience.
