In the corner of Fluffballs eye there is a little bit of gunk, I only noticed it this morning should I wait and see if when she washes herself she can get it off of should I get it off.
It is only one of her eyes though, she seems fine in herself so it can't be anything too bad.. I hope LOL

I suspect that is something we lovingly call "eye boogers". It is the mineral content of the tears in the eye. A condition called "weepy eye" is usually noticed in which the eye(s) will tear up. This bears close watching as it could be anything from allergies to irritation such as debris in the eye, corneal abrasion (can be serious), tear duct issues, eye infection or even a dental problems. If this were my rabbit, I think I would have the eye "stained" to see if there is a corneal abrasion or possibly an ulcer (this will most likely require avet's attention). The eyelid can also be checked for issues at that time. If an infection is suspected, a culture would be in order. With eyes (and ears) I don't play around with. Something is going on to cause this...the root cause should be found and the sooner, the better. Let's just hope it's some light irritation maybe due to some dust.

Dang, Randy, you're always so technical! ;)

:laughsmiley:

Yea....that technical stuff comes from those vets. You should see their face when I use my technical term for treating something we know nothing about...I treat by "SWAG"....I will let you figure that one out...lol.

Is she shedding at all? Sometimes if my guys get hair in their eye they can get a bit teary. Personally I would just keep an eye on it.. was it like sleep crust? I usually just wipe that away. I'd just keep an 'eye' on it.

Becca, how much goop are you talking about? It's normal for bunnies to have a tiny bit of eye boogers in the corner of their eye, like how humans wake up with eye goobers after sleeping. I de-gunk my bunnies' eyes every day and always have. What color is it?

Oh it was sort of grey - yeah like when we wake up
