If you all don't mind, I'd love to share photo's of the new Flemish Babies we have here. I specialize in the Blues, the rarest, least common Flemish Giants. They were going to be eliminated from the Breed Standard about 10 years ago, and I thought that would be a terrible loss... I love the personality of the Flemish... so gentle and sweet... LOL! well, most of the time. They can be so demanding when it comes to attention.
This is Nova, Star Gazer's daughter. (Star Gazer was 19+ lbs, a Grand Champion and just the most beautiful girl.)
The Blues are genetically dilute blacks, so they can be crossed with black to keep the color dark blue and rich looking (and to help avoid the dreaded "white toenails"!). They tend to be a tiny bit smaller than the Sandys and Fawns. Most of mine only get to 17 lbs, but I've had a few achieve 19+ lbs. (20+ lb Bluesare my goal!).
Nova's first litter. Just 13 days old... their eyes just opened 2 days ago!
And these are Moon Shadow's babies at 6 weeks old. (Moon Shadow is Nova's sister, the otherdaughter of Star Gazer.) She had 10 babies in the litter, too many for one girl to raise! Tina also delivered on the same day, but her litter did not make it. She still had milk, so I fostered 5 of Moon Shadow's babies to Tina. Tina has done a great job of raising her fostered litter....
One of my favorite girls in the litter....
