Rabbits can't catch fiv from cats correct? Just found out my cat has that. The vet told me no because rabbits are not feline. Just wondering if anyone out there has a similar situation.

It is the FELINE immunodeficiency virus, so only affects cats. Just like the Human immunodeficiency virus affects people and some apes and monkeys.

You should not need to worry about your rabbit contracting FIV from your cat.

Ok I figured that lol I know it was a stupid question but I just freak out over everything

How old is your cat? Kittens can sometimes test false-positive for FIV because the test looks for antibodies and kittens can still have maternal antibodies from their mothers if they were exposed or vaccinated. I'm sure your vet told you, but it's something to be aware of.

To my knowledge, FIV can't be transmitted to anything that's not a feline.

Yep only cats can get/attract Fiv, they also can contract feline leukemia. Rabbits cannot contract any feline diseases. Fleas and mites are the only things that rabbits can contract from cats. I am on a cat forum that are pretty knowledgeable about cats, catforum.com, you can join and get questions answered. I am sweetcuddles on that forum.
