Hello all,
I am Melissa Glinski. I bought my first rabbit last October off of Craigslist. I have been learning about how to care for my rabbit (Skittles) by reading anything I can find online and through friends and family that have had rabbits.

Being that I got my rabbit from craigslist I am not sure what breed my rabbit is. After doing some research I think she is a Polish.

I also noticed that she has a Y tattooed in her right ear. I am wondering what that means.:?

Any tips on treats for rabbits would be great.

Welcome! I think you will enjoy our forum. I've had many rabbits over the years and the one thing I've learned is that one never stops learning about bunnies! :apollo:

Hello and welcome to RO! Skittles is adorable!!! I'm not sure why there is a Y in her right ear, because nothing should be there except either an R with a circle (meaning she's registered with ARBA) or her actual registration number. Does she have anything in her left one?

She's darling! I am a first time bunny (well now 2 bunnies) owner too! She looks a LOT like my Pippy. They could be long lost sisters :)

Cute bunny, and appropriate name! I like the sprinkling of spots on her back.

For treats, I've seen many many sources saying NOT to feed the "yogurt drops" and junk you see at the pet stores. Stick to bits of fresh fruit (I have introduced mine to the cut tops of strawberries, but she really really enjoys freeze-dried banana treats from Ox-bow). I wish I could recommend more favorites, but I haven't been trying too many new things with mine because she is still very young.

Adorable!

Agnes gets a grape every once in awhile and the tops of my strawberries and carrots as greats but only in extreme limited quantity. She is just about 6 months old so she is young still so I'm being cautious in the treat dept.

Welcome!
