Tried to do a search, didn't find an answer...

Just got myself a rabbit yesterday from the local SPCA. She's cute as can be, loves to be held. The issue I'm having is this drinking. When I put her in her cage, I gave her pellets, carrots, carrot tops, and lettuce. She went to the carrots/greens and devoured them that night. She's barely touched her pellets, and hasn't had anything to drink.

I have a bottle on the side of the cage, and tried holding it up to her and squeezing, so she knows what it is. Nothing.
I put a small dish of water in, and she had a few sips, but then tossed the water bowl and basically emptied in the cage. So that didn't work.

Has she simply had enough water from the greens to tide her over, or should I be worried at this point? Thanks.

Sounds like she doesn't know how to drink from a water bottle.

I would get her a heavy croc, one she can't tip over and she should be fine. My bunny Snickers drinks from a bottle but my flemmie Pickles drinks from a croc, it's a heavy duty one that he can't flip over.

some of ours drink a lot ans some not so much. It's possible that she got enough water from the veggies for awhile. All of ours have no problem with the water bottles, but if your not sure you can get a crock that mount to the hutch making it tip proof. Also, need to feed hay to your bunny.

Yeah, I found out she needed hay from the woman at the SPCA, but all pet stores were closed after that, so I will be getting some on the way home. I'll also look into a croc. Thanks

Try to find a bowl that attaches to the side of the cage. They are much harder for a rabbit to tip over. The ones that clamp on rather than just hook on are better in my opinion. Check the bird area or even the dog bowls to see if there is anything.
