First run around & introduction

I just got done letting Beauty and Shiny Things run around together. It was also the first time that I had let either one out of the cage other than to be held. There was a little bit of a scuffle between them while they worked out who is alpha. I had thought that Shiny Things would end up boss and I was right. It took Beauty at least 30-45 minutes before she would come out of the safety of the litter box. While Beauty was in the litter box Shiny Things did at least 4 binkys. Shiny Things pooped every were. (my room was COVERED in poo). Shiny Things would come over to the litter box and sniff at Beauty. I ended up having to pick Beauty out of the litter box and put her away from it so that she would explore. She did explore after that for at least 10 minutes and did a few Binkys. She got scared and went into the litter box again. After about 5-10 minutes she got the courage to hop out of the litter box by herself. After that she did not go back in there other than to poop or pee. The rabbits got along MUCH better and MUCH faster than I would have thought possible since neither one is spayed. At first Shiny Things humped Beauty a bit but then they groomed each other. Shiny Things would go over to Beauty and Beauty would groom her face. They also reversed that a few times. I was and am SOOOOOOOOO proud of my babies. I found out that Beauty likes to drink water from a bowl. Shiny Things would not let her come near when she was drinking so I got a second bowl to use for water. Beauty still wanted to drink from Shiny Things's bowl.

Overall I think that today was very productive. They ran around for a couple of hours. Sorry that I do not have any pictures, I did not have my phone or camera anywhere near by, and I did not want to leave the bunnies for the length of time it would take to get it. There might be pictures from tomorrows run around.

How old are they? Nice job with the two of them!

Beauty was born I beleave January 11th 2011 (I think that is what her pedigree said. I need to check and add it to my pedigree program). Shiny Things was born 6/8/2010. (I just checked her pedigree). That puts her at 2 year 2 months. I got Shiny Things back on Friday. (I sold her over a year ago and could never get her out of my mind so I got her back from the people I sold her to.) I have only had Beauty for 2 weeks. My breeder friends who had Shiny Things could not understand why I wanted that rabbit back. They thought that she was EVIL. She is soooo far from it I think. They also think that the Californian doe that I gave them is the sweetest thing even though I thought that she was evil.
