We finally decided on a cage for our bunny :D

Since the bunny will mostly be living at Massimo's but sometimes come to my place on weekends, should we both have the same cage so the bunny has some familiarity?

Also we're back on the route of adoption :D We might even get a bunny tomorrow!

What cage did ya get?

I would build 2 NIC cages, if it were for Bugsy, my mini rex, I would make 2 totally different cages, I know he would love it!

We got a deluxe starter cage from a pet store. We'll be building nic cages eventually but for now we're using store bought cages. I'm just thinking it'd be good for it to have a familiar space since everything will be new

I personally dont think it would matter if it looked similar. I think the big thing is if it smelled similar. You know?

The bunny will fill whatever cage you put it in with his/her smell..

This is just my personal opinion on this though lol

I travel about 1.5 hrs each weekend with my bunny Beauty. Her main cage is in Brenham and she is there for about 4-5 days each week. For that cage we have a store bought cage. Last weekend was her first weekend to travel (only had her about a week). For her cage in Spring (TX) we built a NIC cage because we already had everything we needed to build it except of the coroplast. The first day or two she just stayed in the litter box but on the last night that we were there she must have gone exploring while everyone slept, because there was poop everywhere. (cleans easily).

Basically I think that your bunny will be happy no matter what as long as you give her time to adjust for a few weeks and get her in a routeen.

I think bunnies are smart and will know they are in a different place even if the cage is the same.

Some buns will adjust well to a frequent environment change, but some won't....just as an FYI.

Buns like routine and consisntency. I guess you'll know when you get your bun but it could quite be possible that change will upset your bun....

At least for my rabbits they seem to take their que from me. If I am there and calm, then everything must be good. We go out frequently and they enjoy it from what I can tell. Now when I put the stroller carrier on the floor Houdini, Sophie, and Gary hop right in without being told. Panda and Bunnicula are too new (have only gone out twice) but are getting it. I also keep a blankie in their carriers that smell like them, I think it is soothing.

Until they get used to the travel you might want to spend extra time reassuring them and a few extra noms.
