She's a broken black (what my daughter wanted). I had posted on all the rabbit Facebook pages about looking for a doe. A breeder (who I didn't know) said a friend of his was selling one and he'd pick her up for me. He lives about 4 hours away. Anyway, it turns out that my Adeline doe was one of his babies. :) We've been talking for a few days through messages, and he volunteered to come to my place to deliver the doe...and help me with posing, and with shoulder evaluations (my weakness...I've read the "ideal" but knowing what I'm looking for is another story), and evaluate my babies and give me his take on them. How cool is that?!?! I'm pretty excited.

There have been quite a few people that have been so helpful during this bunny breeding/showing venture. Pam Nock has been invaluable...both here and at shows. Lots of people on the forums have been super helpful and encouraging. And now someone on the other side of the state is willing to come out to my rabbitry and help me out. There may be a few bad eggs in the rabbit world, but the good ones far outweigh the bad!

Soon Nestle will have a girlfriend and I'll get help with my Flops. And hopefully he can settle the debate, once and for all, on whether Adeline is a fawn with smut or a lynx. LOL

Truly a win/win situation for you. A polish doe plus feedback about your lop breeding program. Plus show tips. So thrilled you are getting help from others who have already been through showing. It does make it less stressful and helps your program set a positive course.

Can't wait to see the new Polish Doe. Plus see how your posing goes. And hear the true coloring of Adeline.

He's been showing for over 30 years, and I was shocked when he said he would come and help me out. Especially considering we're not exactly neighbors. haha I try really, really hard to evaluate them to the best of my ability but I'm pretty sure there's some barn blindness in there. Like LaRew. I really like her, but part of me thinks, "I don't think she's got enough in the shoulders." I do have her listed for sale on my website, but haven't advertised her. Now I'll wait for Joe and his SO before advertising.

The breeder that took Flip is very pleased with her, and she e-mailed me yesterday and said the kits out of her really good show doe are finally old enough to leave. We're driving out there tomorrow to pick out our buck.

Cages....need more cages. LOL

So thrilled for you. Your rabbitry is showing quality show stock. And with future lessons from someone in the business of showing for 30 years, it can only get better. Can't wait to hear what he says about LaRew. Maybe it's not barn blindness and she'll be a good show quality doe. Fingers crossed.

BTW, saw that you got Grump. Can't wait to see what you get with the Grump/Cher connection.

OHHHH Thats so awesome! So happy for you! Could I see your website? Would love to see how ya got it set up! :)

*Does a little happy dance*

I agree with CandyKitten I WISH I could buy one of your babies!!!

Thanks, guys! It's really neat seeing my early decisions show promise. I got into this not really knowing what, exactly, was meant by some of the SoP terms (like "depth"). So I did a lot of reading, went to quite a few shows to watch the judging, and went from there. So far I've gotten a few that show real promise. But it won't be until I start breeding those ones to see if I'm really on the right track.

Maria, my website is about to be totally re-vamped. I get tired of looking at the same old graphics, so mix it up every now and then. I used to do graphics and website design for all the major Pennsylvania Quarter Horse Associations along with a lot of breeding farms. I finally quit, because I wasn't having fun any more. Anyway, here's the link:

Your website is awesome! I love it! Very easy to navigate! Love the pictures section :) :)

So since I noticed there is a due day on Cher and Grump.. and its for 8/5..today is the day, huh?

Thanks, Maria! I'm hoping this evening they do the deed. I'll put them together tonight, and then again tomorrow...then cross my fingers we finally get babies!
