Filling Up On Grass Mats

So I noticed my bunny has really been going after her grass mats. So much so she is not eating as much hay as she use to or pellets. Is that ok for her? She still eats some hay and pellets but usually in the morning I fill the bowl and hay rack and I dont have to do that lately. thoughts? thanks Mindy

Grass mats are usually made of hay (check the ones you use to be sure). It should not be an issue if she chooses to eat the mat over hay. Just make sure she has hay available. You can try not giving mats all the time, maybe once a week or so, to encourage her to eat more hay.

I've found that Layla likes eating her mats too, but she goes for the hay when I replenish it with some "fresh" nice smelling alfalfa.

Serena will devour a mat in 2 days--she's an 18 pound Checkered Giant. So, she only gets one a month.
