Hello all! I just got my bunnies about 2 weeks, so they're about 10 weeks old now. Their names are Zuri and Shiloh, both females, I got them both from the same breeder and they've been living happily together in the same cage. Today I had the door open, letting them roam around my room for a couple hours while I was home working on stuff. They'd been out for about 2 hours and suddenly I heard them scuffling at the foot of my bed. Zuri, the slightly bigger one seemed to be beating up a little on Shiloh. She chased her closely around their cage for a lap or two, till Shiloh was whimpering slightly and stomped her foot. At that point, Zuri hopped back in their cage and Shiloh hid in a box I have for them to play in. When I stepped over to pet Shiloh and comfort her, I noticed a few patches of her hair on the carpet where Zuri had started harassing her. Are they fighting? Playing a little too rough? Is Zuri just establishing her dominance? Now they're both back in the cage cuddling up to each other. Should I be worried?

They could be fighting. It's not too common for does that have grown up together to start fighting like that all of a sudden, but sometimes they do. Most likely, one or both of them is starting to go into puberty (hormones).

Just keep an eye on them. If you see fur flying again, you'll probably have to separate them until after they're bonded after their spay surgeries (if you're spaying them...otherwise, just keep them separate unless monitored).

It's actually very common for sisters to have a bond broken when they reach puberty. They don't have any concept of growing up together, and they just change overnight. They cannot be trusted now to live together until they are spayed, even if they seem to be getting along well since thier fight. Time to separate!
