Hello,

I am trying to get Miley to eat more fiber/Hay. Besides putting Hay in every possible place that I can think of (I have a metal ball that can be stuffed with Hay, the litter box has Hay in it, she has a hay rack and a seagrass basket that is full of hay), what else can I do to increase Miley's consumption of Hay?

The reason I am asking is that the previous owner wrote a little write up on her regime with the rabbits. She mentioned that she fed the rabbits the walmart rabbit food with the purple label. So we were at Walmart today and took a look at it. It said 17 percent protein and 7 percent fiber. Oy! I am not feeding her that brand. I am feeding her a brand that is 28 percent fiber. I am trying to get her poops to improve. They are hard but very small.

Also, is it safe to feed the leaves of the beets to the rabbits? I picked up some organic beets for my babies.

Hey!

You could try using toilet rolls and stuffing those with hay. Another thing is to use a small tupperware bowl and put hay in that, that's what we do. You can also stick a craisen or two in the stuffings, hee.:)

Beet "tops" are fine, not necessarily the leaves. Not totally sure on that.:?

Let us know how it goes.:D
