Looks like I might be ferret-sitting my friend, Matt's, ferret for 3 weeks starting next week. Her name is Elenor and she is spunky and crazy!

My plan is to spoil her rotten with fun toys, sew a new crazy hammock, and litter train her! Possibly talk with Matt about getting her onto a good food mixture that I have done a little research on. I am thinking either Chicken Soup's kitten food or Innova for cats. I want a bit more advice on this though. I think Matt is just feeding her the crap stuff from the pet store...probably that Marshall crap. I will talk to him before changing her food though.

He loves her, but just doesn't know much about ferrets....his old room mate moved out and left Elenor with him.

So, I just wanted to know if we have any ferret people here...incase I have some questions!

:biggrin2:

Hi Amy I have a friend that volunteers at a Ferret shelter.

They can be quite the handful and smelly if not fixed. Also be very careful as they can and willKILL rabbits or other small animals if the get out of their cages. I know this as I had a friend who had a hampster that was killed by one.

Cat food may not be the best. I would stick to a ferret food. probably just a pellet (no junk). deffently keep away from bunnies. I don't know tons abous ferrets but they are cool.

Actually, hard cat food, from what I have read off of websites and a forum, is the best way to go. You are supposted to mix a couple of different high quality cat foods together. Ferrets don't eat "pellets". They can also have this nifty thing called "Duck Soup". I am still researching their diets.

I definitely know to keep the little lady away from Marlin. I won't be taking chances there.

Elenor is spayed and descented. She has the dots in her ear that indicate she came from Marshall Farms....the key to keep away the stink now is a great diet.

Thanks guys :)! Maybe I will sign onto a ferret forum while I am watching her :p.
