Feel-good story of the month…

These photos lift my spirits. A monkey and a rabbit together. The monkey, BoonLua, lost one arm and both legs in a vicious attack by dogs three years ago. He dragged himself to a nearby temple, where the monks called a vet for help.

The monks took him to a center where retired elephants live. There, an ex-zookeeper designed a special enclosure to accommodate BoonLua’s handicap. He lives there to this day, enjoying fruits, nuts and eggs, along with occasional Mentos mints, which he loves.

And because they felt he needed a friend, the elephant people gave him Toby, a young rabbit with a lovely nature. The two are now constant companions. What could lift your spirits more than that?

That is so adorable!:inlove:Toby looks a tad scared though, but maybe it was the person taking the picture.....

At least we know that Toby doesn't have to worry about mites/fleas, etc! BoonLua is sure taking care of that!

I saw their picture only last evening and I'm not a monkey fan, but those two are awesome! That little bunner looks like he's happy and the monkey is grooming him!

Aww what an inspiring story...but such a tragic thing to have happened to the monkey though.

The picture of both of them together is just adorable...it gave me a nice warm feeling :)
