Feeding the babies

It appears that Gracie is only feeding the bunnies 1 x a day should they be supplemented, or is this normal?

They usually onlyfeed them once a day, sometimes twice. As long as the babies look fullthen I think they are fine. Another way you can check to see if theyneed extra feeding is to (gently) pinch some of their skin, if it rollsback rather quickly then they are fine, if it sticks together then youwill probably need to help the mom with feeding.

That sounds pretty normal to me. Just keep aneye on the babies to make sure their tummies seem full and they lookhealthy, and they should be okay...

 

Susan Have you increasedMoms feed a little bit , Youdont want her to get too thinwhile nursing the kits , makesure she eats what shewants and keeps healthy . TheBabies will be fine she may befeeding them when your not around . sneakybuggers do that lol . as longas the tummy is full they are golden. keep us updated .

Yes she has plenty of food and unlimited hay, which she has decided she likes to be hand fed.. spoiled rotten brat!
