In one cage I have 1 6 week old and 9 week old Doe's, And my other cage I have a 6 week old Buck in the other cage. Well I need to know how much to feed them a day?

The one 6 week old Doe is going to be shown for Show's,

I would make sure they get a good pellet. I use Oxbow. On the bag there is a chart. Weight= Amount they get. I go by that. The (vet) doc told me to go by that too. Also, they don't get veggies until their 3-4 months old.

* I don't know of any other good pellets, so maybe someone else can help you with that. ;)

We are feeding them Rabbit Chow, No veggie's or fruit until they are 6 months old. Just do not want to over feed them if they are for show & breeding.

There is a Rabbitry and Show Section on Main Page. Maybe you can post question in there, since you want to show your bunny. Ask about the food to feed and how much.

Lol....K. I'm heading to bed soon. I'm suppose to be studying for my quiz tomorrow but that isn't happening. I'm gonna have to wake up early.Lol :p

Rabbits under 8 months old should really receive unlimited pellets and unlimited hay (alfalfa is good, but timothy is fine too). They're growing very quickly and need the extra nutrients.

Why no veggies until they are 3-4 months old?:?

My Aunt Raised Buns for show and breeding for years and always gave them greens starting at 5-6weeks.

Mistyjr I usually free feed pellets their whole life, but my buns are generally more active and are super healthy and never get fat, they just stay trim. I also free feed Timothy hay for buns over 6 months. Alfalfa before that *but I had to ask on the hay because I think I had it wrong...*

My aunt told me no fruit or veggies until they are 6 months old because they will get diahrea and will die..

My bun's get unlimited pellets, and hay but only get one alfalfa cube that i just started today.

I honestly start giving veggies at 3 months and keep a close eye on poop. I have heard that it can cause diaherra, and most often I heard of breeders and and even a vet told me not to feed fresh veggies at all because of the chance.
Its about the water in them..but if you stick to dark leafy greens I think you will be okay. I have never had a problem with my three.

I give 1/8 pellets to my 2 1/2 year old which last about 2 days..
Then 2/3 pellets to my 2 lionheads (8 mo, 3mo) which lasts about 2 days.

Wow Low maintenance buns
I free feed my buns because on portions they eat all their pellets and bug for more, so I just free feed em.

Thank you both on the veggie answer

I keep my rabbits on self feeders. If they know they have food available 24/7 they don't pig out. They just nibble here and there. If you feed once a day and they know thats all they will get, they scarf it down. Or thats what I've had in the past.

I just prefer self feeders. Never had a prob.

I try to free feed pellets until they are 6 months, however, as they get older they start eating all the pellets I give them in a short period no matter how much I give and so they are cut down to half a cup when that happens. Pellets are not very good for them when ate in excess.
