I have a 4 month old New Zealand Mix that I am fostering. I was told togive her pelletsbased on her weight, so she's been getting 1/4 cup per day. However, I was reading an article on www.rabbit.org and it said to feed unlimited pellets until they are 7 months old. What does everyone else think? She also gets unlimited timothy hay, a small amount of alfalfa hay, and vegetables. Thanks!

I feed my rabbits unlimited pelletsuntil aroundfourmonths. At a young age it's okay to feed unlimited alfafa. But there is a point were you need to switch back to timothy/grass hay, i just don't remember the age :?.

I fed my doe almost entirely Timothy hay even when I got her at 4 months. At 5 and half month I cut out all alfalfa (which was only being given more as a treat than anything else). I also fed her unlimited pellets until she was 6 months old, I then started limiting her to the right amount. Some rabbits can be given unlimited pellets but still will only eat about the amount that they should be as an adult(as was the case with my doe).
