I have a litter box for Zaeo's "duty", and a small pan for hay. Well, Zaeo has decided to eat the straw litter, and poop and pee in the hay pan! When I first refill the hay, he eats a bunch, and decides to poop in it, wasting some hay. I have two questions:

1. I'm not sure if he eats the hay after he does his business on it, and I seriously doubt it, but if he does, would it be harmful to him?
2. Why won't he go in his litter box? I've tried putting his poo in it and soaking a paper towel in his pee and putting it in the box, but he still goes on the floor and in the hay pan. :sigh: What do I try now?

I'm going to be attaching a rack to the side of the cage soon to put the hay in.

I just switched the litter box and hay pan, putting the hay in the litter box and the poo in the hay pan, and now it's a litter pan and a hay box! XD Maybe he just has a preference in containers?

--please donot use scented shavings,(ie.cedar,pine-etc.)-for a rabbit litterbox,--use timothy,orchard,etc.grasses,,--they can eat and poop at the same time,-change every couple days--here is a poop link that has a lot of information http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/poop.html hope this helps,--sincerely james waller :inlove::bunnybutt:

I have my buns set up with hay racks hanging next to the litter box and have no issues. However if the hay rack is big enough and depending on the shape the buns will hop into it to eat the hay and will use it as a liter box so I use a hay rack too small for them to sit in.
