I have recently noticed that my bunny has more fat on his right haunch. I don't believe it has been effecting his movement or health, but it worries me a bit. Is there a problem I should be concerned about, and how serious is it?

The difference isn't huge, but if you look closely at this picture you can see that one side is bigger than the other. The angle of the photo is exactly straight (or as straight as I could get it).

Hmmmm. I think I see what you mean. The right side sort of looks more puffed up higher? It doesn't look like a major issue, but you can keep an eye on it to see if it changes? As long as he's eating, drinking, pooing. You could schedule an appointment with your vet to be sure. They would give him a good look over.

If it felt more like a lump I would suspect something like a lipoma (fatty tumor) but it could be anything from an awkward molt where the fur is thicker on one side to muscle atrophy which can have a number of causes including denervation and disuse. Does he move around okay?

Hard to tell without feeling, as Christina says it could just be fluff, definitely raise it with the vet though in case there is something underneath :)
