I've had my back door open for the past half hour. --It's finally nice enough outside to invite the weather in. :p

How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

It has really cooled off here too! Finally got to turn off the a/c. I really don't like the hot/humid days of summer anymore, but I am not looking forward to the freezing cold either:grumpy:.

I can feel the difference here in Florida, too! Even though it is still hitting in the 90's every day, it is less muggy and it has started cooling down in the evenings and mornings. Woohoo!! I love fall!

(Still need the A/C, though!)

Bah we never had any heat at all this summer. :?Not that I'm all that bothered, I barely suffered from hay fever at all this year. ;)

But I love Autumn (what's all this "Fall" nonsense? :p), especially late Autumn, when it's dark when I'm getting home from school and it's really close to Christmas. :D

*Ahem* 104 days... :whistling

The days are still hot, but I've noticed in the evening and early morning a lovely coolness in the air. We usually turn off the a/c around mid-October. The bills this year have only been about half of what they were last year though....money well spent on new a/c!

I've been thinking that the air has had a very autumnal feel to it lately. Those sunny days and crisp cool nights, when the leaves are starting to turn brown and there is a certain freshness in the air. I love it.:D

The only thing I don't like is these days getting shorter, I have to juggle doing my work, spending time with Millie and riding Smokey before it gets dark:juggle (well, I can work when it's dark - but I'm always tired by then!:p) Now er...speaking of work...*slinks out andstarts reading the Merchant of Venice*;)

I like summer....I'm going to miss the massive amount of sunlight we get up here :(

It's gonna always be dark, I'm going to wake up and go to school and it'll be dark, I'm going to get out of school and go home and it'll be dark :(*sigh*

It's hot. Will continue to be until late November. We have mild and mini winters here. Long and ridiculous summers. I'm a P.E. Coach so I get to brave the weather all day. No air conditioned gym at my school.:grumpy:

Haha...the past week has been so much lower in temperature...so I went to check what today's high will be, and get this...

It's gonna be a high of 99F today! :grumpy:

Needless to say, I am NOT happy about this...

Hopefully it stays nice and cool in here, though.....:pleaseplease:

I love the fall but can't stand what follows sincewe live inOhio's snow belt. A dreadful thought- our first snowfall could be a month away. I think I will focus on the good things about fall and pray for a mild winter. Funny thought, when I went to school at East Carolina Univ, allwe did was complain about the swampy humid weather in Greenville, NC.

Alright, Rosie, time to pack everyone up and come to Michigan. This is by far the best time of year!

Oh, and speaking of...I *might* be going to Vegas for a few days near the holidays...especially if Michigan were to make it to the Rose Bowl (which might be doubtful) which would mean a day trip out to Pasadena (and a possible Rosie visit?!)

YESYESYESSS!!

I would LOVE to see you, and Pasadena is only a half-hour from me!!

Would you be bringing any of your herd????

Not to mention all the snow. The four years we were in Alaska -it always snowed around October 10th....the first year we were there - the first snowfall /storm(s) broke several records in the Anchorage area.

I LOVE Alaska....specifically Anchorage. I'd go back in a heartbeat...

When I went out to the car this morning the grass was covered in dew and there was a definate smell of Autumnin the air!.Yesterday we took a walk in the park and the leaves were such a lovely colour!

I would love to see pics of your places in Autumn...... I will post one of our park tip later.

Tundrakatiebean, how do you manage in the winter then if its sooo dark all the time? I love the winter nights but I need the sun light or I get a bit glum, I think there is definatly something in thie seasonal affected disorder!

Today it is sunny here and about 22C ish, my smallest boy started playgrup this morning.......:(He has grown up far too quick!

I just :heartsthe Autumn, Having to let your car warm up, the crispness in the air the beautiful colors and not to mention being able to kayak all day long.

My favorite poem reads:

Autumn is the second spring of the year

When every leaf is a flower!

We get the same amount of light in the summer as dark in winter. They have special lights up here and stuff that are supposed to put some vitamin d in ya. It doesn't bother me that much because I'm a real nightowl, it does keep from sleeping since I'm used to sleeping when it's light out :p

Our first summer in Alaska we were putzing around doing stuff and we'd been snacking off and on all day. Well, we decided it was getting close to suppertime (the sun was starting to go down) - so Eric & I decided to run over to McDonalds and grab some supper.

We got the corner of one street and the light was flashing red...instead of the normal pattern. Hmm....

We get to McDonald's...and it was CLOSED. What???

We then looked at the time on the clock in the car....it was 11:30 pm.

We went back home and made scrambled eggs or something...

It is amazing how long it stays light in the summer.

I love winter there - I love the way the sun reflects off the snow and how you need sunglasses almost to drive.....
