Hi, I have never had this happen witha doe yet so not sure what happened. My 1 1/2 year old lionhead doe FuzzBucket( FB for short) had a reddish lima bean size blob when I went out this am. there was a little blood in cage and very, very little on her. So I am guessing she had a miscarrige?? She was due on th 16-17th of this month. As I said this has never happened before so what could have caused it and is there anything I should do for her, she was acting fine. Upon Palpating her she feels empty. This would have been her 3rd litter, I rest all my does between breeding. Her last litter was back in early june. I feed manna pro pellets and hay daily. Last night they all got their fresh veggies. She ate most of her pellets. But for her its not uncommon to leave some and eat through the day. The only thing that was different was my husband was in there working yesterday. But nothing major. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciatted. Thanks cathy

I've very sorry this happened..:(

I'm going to move this to the rabbitry..... much more experience dealing with problems like this in that part of of the forum

Does sound a bit like she has miscarried. sounds abit like the placenta bit that is usually left after they give birth. I was told to remate my doe when a similar thing happened.

Awww... sorry to hear about Fuzzbucket. She may have lost the litter. Or the Breeding may not have taken completely, and what she expelled was something that didn't finish developing. (It is possible forher to have reabsorbedthe fetus'... and her body passed the placenta, or what was left of it.)

thanks everyone for your answers and thoughts. I have been out there much of the day with them all. everyone gets out for excerise daily in large "playpens". She seems fine but I will continue to keep on eye on her for discharge or any other changes. She ate her hay and was runnig around the playpen acting like she always does. So I guess shes feeling fine. Don't know that I will rebreed her right away though. Would like to make sure she is ok. Thanks agian. Cathy
