Ok so my frankie has an ulcer on his eye. I took him to thew vet last friday and thats what they told me. I don't know how he hurt himself except for maybe on a piece of hay. They gave me tobramycin and remend drops. I have yet to see any improvement. How long should it take to heal? The vet said give it 2 weeks and come back if not better.

That sounds about right, so go back in about a week if there still is no change. Of course I hope there will be improvement by then.

If you don't see ANY improvement than I would say go back by next week. If you see some improvement wait the 3 week span. It takes time.

Believe me, with Neville's wry neck I was never aware once the med started that he could get worse before he gets better. Poor baby'stilt did get worse. We been on two types of meds since 3-20 and have to be a bit patient because we thought that the wry neck would have atleast cleared up by now. Good thing though is his eyes are nice and steady. And he's eating, drinking, pooing and peeing like he normally does.

I have to say, the first few times Neville was terrified about his medication. But as we worked out how to best do it, he has since calmed down. I'm not saying he's enjoying it, but he is tolerating it. I will be happy when the doses are over with. Every time he does "tolerate" his medication it tends to tense him up and his tilt is really noticeable. But we do let him run around afterwards, and once he realizes the medication time is over, he relaxes and holds his head a little straighter. I believe we have maybe two more days of medication, then we will see what happens next.

It is really tough getting medications into a bunny, but I think it's our responsibility to try anyway we can to make it as stressfree.I can't expecthim to know that it's for their own good. He is sick and scared. I tried to best way I knew how and knowing my bunny it's worked. He definitely is improving. Now to see if the head tilt alleviates.

Bunnies can get eye scratches very easily. They can even cause them on their own by accident. The treatment course sounds good. You might want someone to help by holding his eyelids open while you put the meds in.
