I noticed that the fur on Cindi's ears is becoming very thin so I can see the skin. Is it possible that Houdini is grooming all the fur off? He loves to lick her and they are constantly together. Do I need to do something to stop him before he hurts her or is it something that won't progress past baldness?

I checked for signs of mites or anything like that, but the skin looks healthy and there's no sign of bugs. She doesn't have any other bald or thinning patches, just the ears. He tends to groom her ears which is why I think that is the cause.

Thanks.:inlove:

Hi Brandy, this is what Winston does to Vega at least once a year sometimes more often.

He just LOVES her so much. Drives me nuts i try to move him away but kinda hard when I leave the house at 7:15 am and don't get home till about 6:00 pm.

The first time it happened we brought her to the Vet, DAH $200 later she gave us some cream that wasuseless, he still licked her.I stopped putting the cream on as I didn't want him licking it.

Honestly unless you separate them I don't know of any way to stop them from licking.

Thanks for the confirmation. It probably doesn't help that she is molting right now so the fur was thin to start with. It would break their hearts to be seperated, so she will just have bald ears.
