I am evacuating to my hubbys work in the morning... that way he is not to far away from home... I am very nervous ... please keep everyone in the path of ike in your prayes... there are alot of people who cannot afford to evacuate... the county I live in did not have the resources to call for another mandatory evacuation for a second time... so I know of alot of special need people who could not get evacuated... which is really sad...I know they are opening one school up so they can ride the storm out and then they will have to go home when it is over...

my husband is in the fire department so i hear alot of info ... (not sure if I want to hear it)lol... I been up since 2 oclock this morning so i think i may be going to bed soon

Everyone in the path is foremost in my thoughts. Please please stay as safe as possible. I hope you, yours and everything you value gets through the storm safely!

I'm ok! :) I'm down at the tip of Texas. The Rio Grande Valley is the southmost portion of Texas. We're going to get lots of rain, but nowhere near as much as that area.At one point, Ike was headed for us.

I can't believe the National Weather Center said that Galvaston residents that stayed behind are facing "certain death.":shock::shock::shock:

"Catastrophic disaster" seems to be an understatement at this point.

I'm praying for all those poor people. :(
