Hello! My Dutch Bunny Bubbles is very healthy at the moment, however she is 9 years old and has some arthritis and balance issues on the flooring of their room, are there any safe surfaces or matting recommended for older bunnies so they can grip the floor better? (Floor is lino)

She naturally gravitates towards anything more grippy for her feet so I'm sure she's use anything, but lots of the matting in my local pet stores are foam which her partner (7yrs) would definitely eat.

Thanks!

We put down a very tight nap carpet--sold here as indoor/outdoor. Linoleum is not a great flooring choice for bunnies. I also put my elder buns on a joint/arthritis supplement. I have also used cardboard for floor covering--not the best but way better than lino.

Thank you! I will definitely try the supplements idea I haven't heard that before :)

Daily meloxicam really helped my elderly rabbit, though if there are any kidney issues or gastric irritation, it can't be used. There are also some other meds and supplements used for arthritis in rabbits.
