So with my very spoiled lionhead working out perfectly well. I decided to give him a little brother. Just like a parent, I was of course thinking he'd LOVE whoever I picked. But before I got my second rabbit, this time, I did some looking into rescues and rabbit sanctuaries. I wanted to save a little rabbits life, rather than just purchase a pretty bun. So off I went and did a mound of research and found a lovely little rescue (believe it or not) right down my street! (www.newmoonrabbitrescue.ca ) It was meant to be. I started looking through the immense amount of rabbit “profiles” and sent them an email pertaining to a lop. The lady at the rescue emailed me back quickly saying that they had in fact just adopted out that male, but they had a huge amount of rabbits due to come in that week from a seizure in Manatalouin Island** a lady there basically horded rabbits (see comments below).

I went to meet Eddison and fell in love. He was sweet and absolutely refused to be put down after someone was cuddling him. Even now, months after I’ve adopted him, he gives me kisses and stretches out on my tummy for cuddles. He was starved for attention growing up, and treated terribly, but nothing breaks this beautiful rabbit’s spirits. Nothing.
He and Simba were very quick to bond (they are both neutered), and we moved soon after that into a lovely two bedroom apartment. Yes, I got a two bedroom apartment so that my boys could have their own room.
I have a puppy as well, June, and she’s learning to be very gentle with my rabbits, they’ve become fast friends though. My boys still have their room to themselves so they don’t get overwhelmed by my puppy’s enthusiastic nature to play. They have a TV as well, so that I can spend (and I do) many hours watching television and movies with them. Of course the puppy visits often, but we three sometimes like to just hang out by ourselves.

**Good homes are needed for more than 200 bunnies after hundreds of rabbits were rescued from a Manitoulin Island home last month.“The removal happened at the end of May, but it took some time for them to be examined by a veterinarian to determine which were healthy enough to be adopted out,” said Alison Cross, spokesperson for the OSPCA.“There were some mothers that were still giving birth, so we had to monitor them,” she added. About half of the rabbits rescued had to be euthanized due to their poor health.
