Does anyone have experience with Ecotrition pellets? I liked them because they were organic, but I have not seen anyone else mention them on here. Becky loves them so I limit the amount to 1/4 cup a day (she's a mini lop).

I think she is a bit on the thin side, it's very easy to feel her spine when I pet her. I got her from the SPCA on Monday and I think she was very frightened there. Her personality has bloomed and she eats with enthusiasm now. She also gets unlimited timothy hay and 2 cups of fresh vegetables a day. Her fur is soft and no bathroom issues. When she first came home she had teary eyes like she had been crying, but that has gone away.

This is my first rabbit in many years so I want to do everything right. So much has changed since I kept them as a kid.

I don't have any experience. I am bumping this thread up to see if anyone else does. Sorry you haven't received a response yet.

Also, if you are looking for organic, I feed Oxbow Organic Rabbit. Not sure how it compares in price, Oxbow is pricey.

Amy, thank you. The more nutrition information and discussions I read here the more I think I should switch pellets. I think I was nieve to think that since they are the best brand for my gerbils they would be the best brand for my rabbit. For the first bag it probably was ok since Becky was skinny and needed to put on some weight. Now that she is closer to normal weight I am going to switch and see if she will eat oxbow. They price is not that differnt between the two.
Ecotrition is alfalfa based so it is higher in protein and fat then she will need in the long run. It also had egg and dairy in it when I read all the ingredients. I don't think rabbits should be eating animal proteins. It isn't too terrible, but I think she will be better off on oxbow in the long run. If anyone else has tried ecotrition I would love to hear their results.

Nope but I buy my pellets online and I seen that they carried this brand as well, I was interested but knew nothing about it.

They also carry Peter's Rabbit food which is put out by Marshall, I have no idea about that one either.
I just feed the regular Oxbow, I haven't heard much about the Organic.
