These kitten will be ready for new homes August 8th. They will be 3 months old (12 weeks).

Now if you want them spayed and neutered before adoption they won't be ready before Sept 20th. If you don't want them spayed and neutered there will be a spay contract and $50 deposit which you will get back once they're spayed.

If you want them spayed beforehand, you will be required to make a $50 donation to the Galveston Island Humane Society in the name of Echo, the mother of the babies.

If not spayed beforehand they must be spayed by Nov 8th 2009. They will be six months old and any vet will spay at that time.

The kittens will be wormed 3 times and have one set of kitten shots before you pick them up if they are not spayed/neutered. If you have me spay/neuter them before pickup - then they will have a second set of shots, a rabies shot and be microchipped.

They of course are only a few days old but I am hoping that I can find homes early.

There are 2 boys and 2 girls.

Thank You for your time hope to see some responses. You will get to watch them grow up

I am in the Houston, Texasarea.

I won't ship just because I am not sure how and don't want any fraud.

I am not making any profit off these kittens. Mom was a rescue. So I did not breed her she came to me pregnant. Please don't talk bad about me I am doing what is best for them

For spelling and grammer correction

I posted this on a cat site and craigslist what do yall think and if anyone wants a kitten just let me know. My sister is here have to go.

What your saying makes sense, but there are a lot of typos and things that I personally would fix to make it easier to understand.
I'm guessing it's too late to edit for grammar though.

awww! i wish i could get the cali, but you're too far away, Prince('my'(family:p) cat)would have a fit and....eh, it just wouldn't work! but i wish i could take one! i hope they all find great homes:pink iris:!

I would pull the ad and replace it with one that has correct spelling, etc. If I saw the ad like that - I would not even respond to it...I've made some corrections for you.

If you don't want them spayed and neutered nueter there will be a spay contract and $50 (either $50 or 50 dollar - but I prefer the $50)dollor deposit which you will get back once there they're spayed.

If you want them spayed before beforehandheand you will be required to make a 50 (see above about how to do the $50) donation to the Galveston Island Humaine Society. In Echos name Mother
of these four babys. This should be all one sentence - If you want them spayed beforehand, you will be required to make a $50 donation to the Galveston Island Humane Society in the name of Echo, the mother of the babies.

If not spayed beforehand before hand they must be spayed by Nov 8th 2009. They will be six months old and any vet will spay at that time. (Peg's note here - how are you going to make sure they do this? Take them back? How can you prove that they do this?)

They will come wormed 3 times already. One set of kitten shots. And the spay and Nueter info is above. If I spay and nueter they will come with 2 sets of shots microchip and rabies shot. This paragraph is really...not that great. I'm rewriting it like this:

The kittens will be wormed 3 times and have one set of kitten shots before you pick them up if they are not spayed/neutered. If you have me spay/neuter them before pickup - then they will have a second set of shots, a rabies shot and be microchipped.

And one orange- one one berried under neith the other is the boy one one? Huh? The one buried underneath the other is the boy?

Girls
Calico
One orange- One one you can see her neck is the girl. Once again - one one?

Thank You for your time hope to see some responces. responses. You will get to watch them grow up
I am in the Houston, Texas Are you in the Houston Texas AREA or Houston itself? I thought you were in Galveston Island or something like that?
I won't ship just because I am not sure how and don't want any fraud.

I am not making any profit off these kittens. Mom was a rescue. So I did not breed her she came to me pregnant. Please don't talk bad about me I am doing what is best for them.
The last sentences are incomplete thoughts and not true sentences. Perhaps you'd prefer to say:

I am not making any profit from the sale of these kittens. Their mother was a rescue that came to me pregnant and I am doing what is best for them.

Saying "don't talk bad about me" is....just asking folks to do so. Be confident that you're doing the best thing for them.

Just my .02 - with lots more added in....

Thanks peg I can alway count on you to make me look good:p

I will correct and copy and paste. Thank you I am going to edit my top post in 15 minutes can you recheck it

Ok edited it.

Thats why I am asking for a 50$ deposit. So they will fix them to get there money back bad idea? I figured they have to give 50 bucks either way. They might just want them fixed

I need to look into that. Need to talk to some rescues and people of that nature.

Our humane society requires a deposit for pets not old enough to spay/neuter. You then need to take your vet receipt back to the humane society after you have the spay/neuter done in order to get your deposit.

I had the challenge of rehoming a stray kitten last summer. Quite honestly, it was a struggle to even get one person to take her. She finally went to the perfect person after a long time.

I hope you are prepared to take care of these cats for a very long time, as it is hard to find a home for a free kitten, nevermind one with a price tag. I understand very well why you are putting these stipulations on the agreement, but it may be very challenging to find homes.

That being said, if Echo is fostered to you from the humane society, it would be worth calling them and ask to have the kittens available at the shelter when they are grown up. They will get far more public exposure at the shelter.

If you are no longer working with the shelter, contact a local cat rescue in your area and explain your situation. My local cat lady was willing to help me find a home for the puss; they're a great resource, as they know exactly where people go to look for cats.

BTW, I'm wondering why you're doing the advertising if Echo still belongs to the humane society? They are set up to deal with this part of the process (have the infrastructure and process reqs.)...

Echo not part of the humine socirty never was. I got her from a cat horder through my friend that owns the pet shop.

When i went to get her I took pictures of the house and called the houston SPCA.

Email the pictures to the investigaters. she is only evidence she is myne the only reason I called her foster is because honestly after losing bruiser I did not think I was ready to commit to another pet. Then erroll looked at me a week after getting her and said I love her.

But she would not be adoptiable to most normal cat homes either. She is not your jo blow cat.

I have the option to sign the kittens over to the SPCA when they are old enough find my own homes for them and I have talked to the galveston humaine society. About bringing them up on thursday friday and saturday. To get some exposer.

So she is not involded with any organization. My friend at floppy pets is sponcering her food and vettting tell the kittens are weined. But my vet lives in my townhouse complex while his home is being rebuilt. So he just comes by every once in a while.

I dont want to sign them over to a shelter where I have no controle over where they go. Galveston humaine society would let me aprove the adoption aplication. And then the normal adopton fee and they would spay and nueter. Pretty much I aprove the people then it goes like a normal adopton from them.

Thats the main option right there. In turn they get there shots I will worm them as I ahve already bought the wormer. They get microchipped one month of pet insurence, fixed, rabies and such. They will be ready for there new homes.

So I have a lot of options right now. I am just not sure hopw I want to go yet.

I have adopted a lot of cat through these people. Galveston humaine society they are a low kill shelter only put down unadoptable animals theydont put down do to room.

Thank you for giving me the backstory :)
So, are you saying that the stipulations and parameters that you put in your as are the same as those from Galveston HS?

If those are the adoption requirements that the Galveston HS has put on the kittens, those are great req's.

However, I would not be posting all of that detailed info in your public ad. It is enough to state:

"These kittens are being adopted out through the Galveston Humane Society. The adoption fee of $50.00 covers microchipping, deworming, pet insurence, de-sexing and shots."

I find your ad confusing to read as it is... kind of sounds like you might be making a $ of the cats... very unclear. You will have the chance to explain all of that stuff to potential adopters. The key to writing a good ad is giving just enough information to get people's interest.

I'll revamp your ad in my next post.

This is clear and friendly... people tend to get nervous and overwhelmed when they see a lot of detail in an ad.
You will be able to explain everything to them when they get there.
Have a paper copy of the adoption contract there for them to look over - saves you from confusing conversations ;)

Hello! I am the foster mom of Echo, a rescued stray cat who came to me pregnant.
She has given birth to a lovely litter of Kittens, and they need homes!

These kitten will be ready for new homes August 8th. They will be 3 months old (12 weeks) by that date.

The kittens are being adopted out through the Galveston Humane Society. The adoption fee of $50.00 covers microchipping, deworming, pet insurence, de-sexing and shots.

If you wish to have the kittens de-sexed prior to adoption, September 20th will be the earliest pick up date. All other arrangements for desexing must be made through the Galveston Island Humane Society.

It is very clear that you are not a breeder from this ad ;) Notice I used the words "foster" and "rescue" a lot...

The adoption fee at the galveston humaine society is 90 for kittens.

Which includes

DEsexes

rabies

kitten shots 2 sets

worming

1 month of free pet insurence

everything the kitten will need vet wise pretty much.

I am asking people to either make a 50 dollar donation to the galveston island humaine society if I desex

or put a 50 dollar deposit once they fix the kitten they will get the money back.

Thatbelow is if I cover the adoption. In this instence I am loosing about 150 bucks a kitten.

This is the clinic I will use here are the fees for the kittens

If I adopt them out through the galveston humaine society its there adoption fee I just get to approve the adopter not them.

At this point they are not asociated with the galveston humaine society. Thats is a option nothing set in stone yet. Above would be what I would have to spend per kitten. If I adopted them out my self without any orginazations help.

This would be great if I did deside to adopt them through the GIHS. Just change the adoption fee to 90. I really like the way you think. I am going to start asking you to make any ads I need:pThank You for being so helpful. And not doggin my spelling errors.

It makes me relize when I get on this board there are still realy nice people in the w:thanks:eek:rld

Honestly, it will save you a lot of trouble if you go through the GIHS...

The GIHS can do the work for a lower cost than you can. I don't think that you can easily invest $150 per kitten by yourself, and then let it go for only $50.

I respect what you are trying to do, but the only person who benefits out of that arrangement is the adopter (who gets a cheap cat).

However
, if that is the route you want to go, just put in a line in the ad that says

"Alternative arrangements can be made for a lower price ($50)"

(Doesn't scare anybody off, and you can get them to come see the kittens more easily.)

Honestly now that I see it written out its over welming. I think we will go throug the GIHS. Thats a lot of money that i really dont have to loose. 600 about and then mom needs everything also. same things on that list mynis the second set of shots

Sounds like you've got a plan... just post the ad with $50 changed to $90, and take them in on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to the GIHS like you planned.

People go crazy for kittens. I worked really hard to find a home for my little gal, because people are more willing to adopt a tiny kitten than a young cat.

Keep at it. You'll find homes soon :)
