Everytime I eat Peanut Butter crunch Maddy jumps up on my lap and bullies her way into the bowl, or grabs the pieces that fall on the floor (or bed). I know she shouldnt eat cereal, but is it okay for her to have a piece or two every now and then as a treat? Her main diet is veggies (lots of romaine lettuce, Kale which is her favorite, and other various greens), and about 1/4 of a cup of pellets a day (Oxbow), and unlimited hay. I dont usually give her treats cause shes getting chunky (just fruits here and there).

Also, I read spinach wasnt good for bunnies and is actually harmful in large quantities, how true? And why?

Spinach is high in oxalates...in high quantities oxalates can block calcium absorbtion.
This can lead to bladder sludge in bunnies.

You can still feed your bunn spinach...as with any food...moderation is the key!

I won't comment on the cereal...I KNOW better but even I am a sucker for sad bunny face! I treat our kids once a week with a couple of cheerios. :)

Danielle :)

Cereal should be okay. :) I wouldn't make it general practice, but I've known bunnies who got a bowl of cheerios on a daily basis and were perfectly healthy. lol!

I give Muppet Lucky Charms on occasion (not the marshmallows). That is a real treat for her. Usually they are the ones that my daughter dropped on the floor, so I just hand them to Muppet if my dog hasn't already gotten to it.

Everybun will have their weekness as will the bun owner:p. Every bun I've had loves french fries. Now, Mr Snuff is the king. He will eat some oatmeal pie.:wink Little bits at a time are ok. (Depending on the buns health of course.)
