So i give Blossom cardboard boxes to jump in and out of but she chews on them so she must be swallowing it. isnt that dangerous for them. I hate to take them away thats the only thing she plays in. do your bunnies eat their boxes? Mindy

Cardboard is just fine or else my bunnies would have been gone a decade ago. Like above, watch glue and tape. Also, if the box has a photo quality picture, it's plastic, not soy ink, so you want to avoid any with photos. Every couple of months I take all the boxes I've been saving and make a maze with a large box. Usually after a couple of days they've chewed a straight course thru it--no longer a maze I guess, just a large chew toy. They do so love it.

Mine has a thing for the cardboard cat scratchers. I think he's attracted to the catnip too or the cat smell. He was having a chinning contest with the cat last night, they kept going over the same areas trying to be the last to chin. LOL

thanks everyone. Its just something new she is doing and I wanted to make sure it was ok. It has no tape on it so thats good.
Cardboard boxes are great bunny toys. It's the plastic tape you need to avoid - if you have to tape the box together, the old fashioned gummed paper packing tape is fine.

Natasha has nibbled all of the small windows in this box into huge wide floor-to-ceiling doors, and had a ball doing it. With the big openings, she can now dash through the box at high speed.

Maybe I'm overly cautious, but I think it's best to avoid any kind of glue. Starch-based glues wouldn't be so bad, but many glues are made from animal by-products & who knows about the newer, chemical glues. Unless the rabbits are going to climb up on boxes, they can be assembled without tape. Just fold the 4 open flaps so that each is half on top & half underneath another flap.
