One of my mixed rabbits has a case of ear mites. Before I spend money at the vet, is there anything else that I can try? Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere..

Any help would be appreciated-thanks!

Oral Ivermectin works wonders on ear mites. Use a little Ivermectin horse paste wormer (pea size or smaller depending on size of rabbit) or use injectable (you can also give orally) 1/10 of a cc per every pound of body weight.

Caution: As with any medication, there is a chance of the animal exhibiting a sensitivity to the Ivermectin.

DO NOT USE ON A RABBIT WITH DUTCH IN ITS GENETIC BACKGROUND or presumably also a blue-eyed rabbit. It is just too risky.
