Hi Friends,
Bubu (male HL" got EC and confirmed by Vet on 21st December. We went to Vet on 21st right away for acupuncture to help ease the neck pain and also getting medicine.
We then started giving Panacur daily, syringe feed critical care & water every 3-5hrs for at least 5ml each. So a day he'd get at least 30ml CC and 30ml water. We also get antibiotics & meloxicam from Vet for 1week dose.
Bubu has been laying on his left side, immobile, unable to move. He's got eye nystagmus too..
I have joined FB group "help for head tilt hoppers" and been also communicating on IG with other EC survivors.
We went to the 2nd acupuncture appointment on 26th Dec.. Vet helped to do acupuncture on Bubu's left side too by turning his body to right side.. there were 2 people holding his head, body, and back, to keep him from turning back to his left side. This helped to make the left eye open a bit... this eye on the left has been closed, and look so downward.. it's what people call down eye..
However, as a first time EC, i have questions which you may have heard many times, but it'll be helpful to also respond.
1. How do you manage the continuous rolling episodes? Is there any medication to help this?
2. Bubu has been lying on his side... how usual is usual on this? I have been told this is a severe case...
3. What else should i do/ manage during this tough time??
4. What's your experience in having similar severe case like this? One that's just lying on the bed, unable to move... and have rolling/tossing episodes.
5. For those experienced EC like this, how long did it take your bunny from flat on the bed to stand up and live normal life?
Any encouragement and advice are appreciated. Thank you so much.
