Okay, when I bought my steel buck, they said to breed him to my blue doe that has steel behind her and the two, by bloodlines should produce nice babies- they had bred my blue's mother.

Well she had 5, 2 are def. steels, 1 is black(or a very very dark steel) and the other two I had thought they were blues, until today.

I picked the one up, since it's belly was so light, and it's got steel markings on it.

THe breeder i got my steel from said i might get some blueish tinted steels but they were still showable as steels, but a blue with steel markings? The other blue baby is exactly teh same way, one is darker than the other but both def blue steels. I don't think they are showable, mighty interesting looking and decently marked.

They are just very odd, I'll get pictures of them tomorrow morning.

Any other Dutch breeders seen this? I figure, now, that I probably shouldn't have crossed them, but the other breeder had highly suggested it. I was just going to hang onto the steel buck until I could find a steel doe. I don't tend to try crossing colors, typically I end up with black (Blue to a Tort got black once) so now I'm wondering how that Tort I crossed also to the steel how her babies are going to look(She has five also in the nest box but they're only 2 days old). *sigh* the joys of breeding babies I guess. I've always been bad about telling what colors my hollands come out, but I know i'm not messed up on this one.
