The boys got neutered this morning! I ended up in the e.r. all day because of severe bronchitis. Ugg. Their father had to handle eveything. Which was very nerve racking, but he did it. So hopefully tomorrow I can find out from my vet about the procedures and their weight now. etc. Dustbunny( the youngest) was wide awake eating, peeing, pooping normally. Now Clyde seems sluggish, eating little, peeing a lot, but only 2 little poos?? I don't know if he pooped after surgery??? How many poos are ok???

Since they were done this morning, it can take a few hours for them to start eating. Pooping can take a bit of time as well.
You can give him some foods that he normally really likes to help get him eating. Veggies are good as they also provide hydration. As long as he is eating something, he should be ok.
If he hasn't pooped at all by morning, then you should contact the vet.

Some rabbits do recover faster than others, but it can take a day or 2 for them to be more back to normal. Males tend to bounce back faster than females.

Did you adopt them?

It took my lionhead a couple days to get back his old self. He ate a few hours after he came home and used the potty.

no. I got them at 7 weeks and 9 weeks. they are now 4 mos. and 4 mos. 2 weeks. they aren't on fresh veggies yet!! only hay and pellets. they are eating, but clyde isn't pooping very much only 2 poops, just peeing!!

My time zone on here is messed up so how long has it been since Clyde has pooped more? Or has he since this post?

It's normal for eating to slow down a *bit* since anesthesia but more than 12/18 hours I would begin to worry. I would at that time start to syringe a pellet/water mixture or maybe even pumpkin. Watch closely for poop after. Take care to distinguish between both buns.

If another few hours pass with no poops I would consider a vet visit at that time. It's better to be safe than sorry and a buns digestive system shutting down can be risky.

But not saying that to scare you. Neuters are most often an easy/non invasive procedure. Best of luck to your buns recovery!

Ripley just got neutered Friday. He wasn't pooping after the sugrery (surgery was at 1 pm) until maybe 7 or 8 that night or later. He didn't eat after either until overnight when he things wore off more and he was more calm and the house was quiet.

It took 14 hours, but clyde is pooping like a champ!!! yay!!! both the boys doing very well!! I wish I had at least one dose of pain medicine though. but since I wasn't there. the vet told my fiancee they didn't need it!! also noticed they didn't trim their nails!! ugg!! they need it bad!! I'll just wait a few days and try to do it myself!! How long should I wait till I let them run around in a little area???

I waited 5 days but some say 7 days. Before I did, I checked the op site just to make sure that it was looking well and decided that they needed to be out. Just make sure you keep your eye on them. Boys do get back to normal really quickly.
