Sophie's Humble Servant

Sophie has never been interested in my cat's water dish before but I just caught her drinking from it!! She had a couple of slurps before I could stop her. Do I have anything to worry about? I clean her water bowl every day but are my cat's amoebas going to be harmful to her? I'm also worried because I add this tartar prevention stuff to her water. The ingredients are: sodium chlorite, sodium citrate, chlorophyllin-copper complex, sodium benzoate, sodium hydroxide, citric acid. The product is called Oxyfresh Pet oral hygiene solution. The concentration is 1/4 teaspoon in 250 mls of water.

Help, I'm scared!

I don't know anything about the tartar control stuff and rabbits. So I can't help you there.
But I want to say that my cats and rabbit share a water dish everyday with no ill effects. I clean the bowl out daily, but all three cats and the rabbit drink from that bowl. And I'm assuming that they all drink from the dogs water bowl too, so its just a mixture of germs and spit happening.
So far, they're all okay.

But about the tartar control stuff, hopefully someone else more knowledgeable can help!

Ok thank you for your imput! I almost had a heart attack when I saw her drinking from it. I'm going to have to move the dish, now that I know she'll walk onto the coffee table where it's located.

Mine drank out of the community bowl. (2cats,3 dogs) and also nibbled on some dog food. He seems pretty fine. :)

Let us know how your rabbit is doing. When Pup ate some toothpaste I resorted to calling animal poison control. BUT they charge a fee. It helped my peace of mind though.

She's doing fine. Having said that I will make sure she doesn't drink out if the dish again. Only because of the tartar control stuff. It's obviously pet friendly because it's for cats and dogs but since rabbits are different I don't know if there would be negative side effects if she ingested a lot of it. As it was she only had a couple of slurps.
