sam, IAMS makes a great dog food and is reallygood for welping females. If that isnt within your pricerange the Pedigree lamb and rice I believe the name is is a great dogfood also. When I raised pekingnese I used the Pedigree as itis a very healthy source of vitamins and nutrion

I was out off IAMS after a bad press I readabout it once, cant remember what it said but I remember there wassomething bad in the ingredients, I have fed Pedigree science havingboth puppies, I was told that Parson terriers should have 23-26%protein and 16% fat, do you know what the nutritional value of the lamband rice is?

Iams, Science Diet, Eukanueba, Purina - all bad foods. Just look at the ingredients listed...

I'd recommend Nutro, California Natural, or Innova, just off the top of my head. All high quality foods with good ingredients.

Oh yes, and Innova's new line of food, Evo, is very high in protein ;)

I completely agree! Ick.

Nutro, Natural Balance, Wellness, Wyong, Solid Gold, Innova, Newman'sOwn, California Naturals, Pinnacle, Canidae, Chicken Soup for the DogLover's Soul are all excellent foods.

At their website, they should have a "storelocator" .. check their official website. Also, check someonline pet supply stores, they might carry it.

Innova rocks. :)

Innova is hard to find. I feed Nutroand I'm happier with it then I have been with any other food.Although, Innova is wonderful, it's just really hard to find.Wysong is also really good. It is said to be the closest tofeeding a natural diet.

been to their website the store locater doesn't cover the UK, Ialso came across some bad reviews about Innova, diarrhea seemed to bethe main problem, due to a dodgy bag

Ahh, I just now see you're in the UK. Heh, silly me.

That one, well, it has corn as the first ingredient... and a lot ofdogs have allergies to soy. It's nice that it's got organicingredients.

Do they have Nutro there? It's generally easy to find, and it's a pretty good food.

That one looks better than the first.. I'masking around to see what's available in the UK to see if I can getsome decent recommendations. :)

I think I'd go with Nutro or Royal Canin, if youcan't find some of the US brands I listed above, because unspecified"Meat" is something you want to avoid, as well as corn."Meat" could be anything - roadkill, euthanized pets, tumors, etc. It's always best to get a food that starts out with"Chicken" or "Chicken Meal" or "Beef" or "Beef Meal" rather than "Meat"or "Meat Meal," and try to avoid a food with tons of grains.Highly digestable whole grains like brown rice, potato, oroatmeal are better, while corn, wheat, and soy are lesspreferred. Beware of fillers like brewer's rice, gluten, beetpulp, etc - too many of these aren't good. You want somethingthat is naturally preserved, too.

I've spent way too much time researching pet food lately. :p

Have any of you heard of Canidae? Itsa really good food, holistic, 4 meat protein (chicken, turkey, lamb andfish) and no soy corn wheat and absolutely no byproduct. Itskinda hard to find, mostly found in independent pet stores. Its also all life stage, so so switching from puppy to adult toseniour. Mom and pups can eat the same food! :p
