Ok I have had Harvey for 3 days now and yesterday when I got home I let my wittle Kramer out to play which means he would be playing around Harveys cage. I decided to clean Kramer and Harveys cage while Kramer was out playing. Kramer as curious as he is decided to crawl up on my lap and stick his head in Harveys open cage door and take a sniff. Harvey came over and they were nose to nose with nothing in between him. My hands however, were ready to snatch up at any given moment just incase. Kepp in mind Kramer is only 10 weeks and Harvey is almost 4 months old and both in tact. Kramer will get neutered once he is of age but Harvey is my show bunners and will not be neutered anytime soon. So the sniffing continues with a few twitches here and there because they startled each other. NO signs of agression at all just curiosity. They sniffed each other for about 20 minutes and seemed vey happy. I am assuming Harvey is not territorial because he has not been in his new cage long enough. Kramer seems to be just fine (for now) about sharing the common play area for my bunnies. So what is my next step today?? Repeat on uncommon grounds and see houw they do? I am so nervous I dont want either one to get hurt but they both seem ok with each other. What should I do? Do you think they can end up liking each other or is it just lack of hormones at this age and do you think I have an avantage because of their age? YIKES I can only move so quickly to grab them if something goes wrong.

????????

It sounds promising so far. I would repeat what you did and see if the reaction is the same. Be careful though. Males are harder to bond with each other. I knew someone that had two neutered brothers bonded. They were fine for a long time until one day they randomly got in a nasty fight. One of the boys was tossing the other by the ears. I'm not saying this to discourage you, just keep in mind you have two intact males. Plus Kramer is still a baby, thus not a threat yet.

Good luck! :)

Thank you so much, I am keeping my fingers crossed. I repeated the process again last night and they seem so playful through the devider. Still no signs of aggresion. I will continue to repeat until Saturday. My sister and niece are coming over after our ( my nieces meeting, I just attend with her) 4H rabbit project meeting and they will be there to help grab/seperate bunnies if anything goes wrong. This is so nerve wrecking and exciting at the same time. I am sure I will flip video it.

My suggestion would be to wait until your little one is neutered. They may get along right now, but out of no where, he will hit puberty and smell different, and harvey won't like it. This can happen out of no where, and if they do have an opportunity to fight unexpectedly, it can result in a far longer bonding term. I know it can be hard, but it's worth it!
