:(last month i bought a rabbit for mydaughter.when i tried to carry the rabbit it seems very scared andnearly bite me

Rabbits don't generally like to be 'picked up'. They like all four on the floor.
Is it a young rabbit?
They do get use to being handled,so don't fret just yet. You just need patience in letting them get use to it, and you.

I have adopted older rabbits who were terribly abused, and they understandable seemed scared when being picked up.
But, I have managed to win them all over. In some cases it took months, but they all 'got over it'!

It's essential that you are able to pick them up and handle them - tocheck them physically for problems, to clip their nails, look in theirears, and look at those teeth!

You have to hold them securely, supporting their bum, and hold themagainst your body. If they feel like you will let them fall, they willpanic and frail about - and may bite you as a fearful reaction.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

A lot of bunnies don't like to be picked up.

This comes from their instinct as a prey animal as well as being a burrowing one.

It doesn't sound as if it is a show of aggression, so I wouldn't be too concerned. Give it some time and it may improve.

Yes!!!

They will sometimes nibble when theyfeel playful, but they will bite to let you know they are not happy andyou are not getting it.

my rabiits will sometimes nibble when they arenot at ease or they want to go back to their cage... when I place myhand in front of them, they stop nibbling (usually on my clothes) andstart licking. So they are definitly not angry... just demandingattention.

This reminds me of a joke:

A guy goes into a bar and sees a rabbit sitting on a barstool.
He thinks 'well that's cute!' and says to the guy sitting next to it,
"Does your rabbit bite?"
The guy says "No."
So he goes to pet the rabbit, and he chomps down on his finger, right to the bone.
He screams in pain and is dancing around holding up his bleeding hand.
He yells at the guy at the bar: "I thought you said your rabbit didn't bite?!?"
The guy looks calmly at him and says
"I did - That's not my rabbit."
:D

The first rabbit I ever owned had been a rescuefrom the street, and I believe she was abused. She was alsoas mean as heck. When i would go to feed her, she would growl and lungeat me, in an effort to bite (honestly, I don't know what she wasthinking! I gave her tons of attention, food, treats, everything!)Humph. :X

I got rid of that rabbit as soon as I could! Other than that, I've never had a problem with bunnies biting me.
