Question for you guys...

I got contacts yesterday morning, and since then Maisie hasn't wantedto come near me. Could it be that I look so different, she'shesitant to come around?

Another thing, we were gone most of yestereday...could she be poutingabout that? We've been gone for a day before (just the day),so it's not something completely new. And thus why I wonderif it's my contacts.

Also, I went over to her cage and knelt down to see her on the bottomfloor, and she started coming over, but the moment my eyes came intoview, she backed up into the corner she was sleeping in.Hmmm...

Anyone have any experiences like this??

That is weird. Maybe she doesnt recognize you. Animals are sometimes like that.

When myfiance came over my house to stay he went upstairs tochange into a suit and tie because we were going out for a posh meal, and when he came back down again my dog went crazy and didnt recognizehim - barking and snarling (shows you howoftenhewears a shirt and tie ;)). As soon as she was brave enough to go up tohim and sniff him, and realised it was him she went mad with happinessand relief.

Maybe if you wear something she is familiar with, and still has yoursent on it she will recognize you. Im sure she will soon getuse to the new you :D.

My old bunny Oreo used to be confused when I started wearing contacts, but she soon realized I was me no matter what.

My new buns have seen me with contacts and glasses, both often, so they haven't had a problem.

Well, here later in the day, she's gotten muchbetter. Perhaps because I pet the cats a bit before I wentback to pet her again...scent recognition-type thing. ??

Who knows. She still seems skeptical, but at least she cameout of her cage and put her front paws on my lap. Maybe lateron, she'll come all the way up like she usually does. :)

I had my dog once growl at me because I got ahaircut (I really chopped it off), but she realized it was me when Iget close for a sniff, but my bunnies just ignored the same haircut . .. but I did have some Crasins in my hands at the time :D
