right now i have a male rabbit that seems to be happy by himself. but i was wondering if you would think he would enjoy the company of another bunny, female of course and both will be fixed. i would just hate for him to be putting on a brave face but in reality he is lonely. any input would be great :)

Some bunnies like being on their own. Some bunnies just like their owners company. Some bunnies like a rabbit friend and some bunnies enjoy to live in much larger groups.

Remember - rabbits are individuals and no two rabbits are alike. If you get another rabbit, your rabbit may not accept the new rabbit.. however this isn't always the case :)

Amyshizzle was wondering whether or not to get another rabbit. There's some great info. from people on that thread :D

PS : I think its good that you have already thought about spaying/neutering, so there will be no un-expected litters ;)

You have to ask yourself the question can I take on 2 buns; buns need to be "bonded" which can take weeks to months. That being said if you have this time then check with your local Human Society or Bun rescue group that can match your bun to the best mate and help you through the process.

Does your bun have other animal friends? I had my bun Baxter! friends with 2 cats, but recently got him a bun girl friend and going through the "Bunny Bonding Process" which is not as easy as him getting along with the cats (strange - but this is what it is).

Not trying to put you off just know its not "get a new bun and they hop around together". Its work, but in the end your bun could have a BFF when your not there.

Read the library section here on how to bond buns and see if its something you have the time to do.

Good luck!
