Haha i know strange question. but I'm trying to train mine to go in his cage so he can be in my bedroom instead of our porch. but he just seems to poop and walk so I'm wondering does he actually know hes going?

when it is so casual, one would think not,.i think they only pay attention with the night poops,,they tend to mark their territory in wonderful ways too,,.sincerely james waller

How old is he? Young bunnies can have trouble holding it and knowing when they have to go.
Does he have a litter box? Even if he is not using it, a litter box is a very good idea. You can put hay in it to encourage him to go in it. Rabbit like to eat and poop at the same time so it can help with that too. Putting the accident poops in the box will help him learn that they go in there.

I would think generally they know because they are trainable, but that doesn't mean that's necessarily where they want to go or choose to go.

Is he neutered? How old is he?

How is it you are trying to train him, what are you doing/trying? If you can explain then people may be able to offer suggestions :)

I have wondered this same question! so I don't think it's strange at all.

I would also like to know if there are always to encourage bunnies to poo more in the box... rather than sometimes.

He is not neutered im not sure exactly how old he is they didnt tell me when i got all they said is that hes "young"
Well im just trying to get him to go in his cage or the litter box i put him in it every time i take him out and before i put him away i have little poops in there and i took some of his pee and soaked it up in a papertowel and put that in also.

You will stand a far better chance at getting him trained when he is neutered.

Unneutered males use their poo to mark their territory, so that is probably what he is doing.

Have his balls dropped yet?

Eveyr little thing he does needs to go in the tray, and the floor thoroughly cleaned where he went (a distilled white vinegar solution can work wonders) so that he doesn't smell it and think that's his toilet.

It might be worth reading the link I posted up there :)

What type of tray do you use? what's in the tray?

No they havent hes till to young
Its cat litter lol unused and its a gray cat box and i will take a look at it :]

When kind of cat litter is it? Is it the clay clumping stuff, or something like Feline Pine?
The clumping kind is really dangerous for buns if they ingest it, so if you are using that you should switch to another kind.
