Well I mentioned in another post that I just got a Handycap Jersey Wooly. She is about 11 weeks old. She is TINY, she is a quarter of the size of her brothers. I volunteered to take her, her back legs are warped. Like the one is all twisted around and the other is just kind of like bent.

She has been like this since she was born. Like I don't know if she was suppose to be a peanut and never like died. She gets around fine, eats fine, drinks fine.

The problem is I feel sooooo sad when I see her :( She is so tiny and like I dunno it is just a feeling in the pit of my stomach. I don't think she is in pain but I feel so horrible. I have been feeding her a mix of pellets and Fat & Fiber horse feed, to get some weight on her. She is kind of boney.

She eats hay and carrots and stuff aswell. She currently lives with a little 8 week old Lionhead buck. I think I will be getting him neutered if she manages to live. They cuddle and everything, I can't imagine even seperating her from him :(

I guess I just wanted some support in the matter, only because I feel bad :( But like I said she gets around, she even stretches out with her back legs kicked out.

Does everyone think she will make it? I mean look how long she has made it so far! She lived in a cage with her 4 brothers at the breeders house, when they would get freaked out they would run her over :( She made it through that!

I just think she is a little miracle bunny :inlove:

Thanks Sharon! She isn't going no where!
The cage I have her in, she lives between 2 GIANT French Angora bucks, they like to lie up against the side of the wire, when she lays down, it is soo cute. Because she is like the size of their heads :p

The little Lionhead buck likes to chill out on the box I put in there xD They sometimes like to cuddle inside of it aswell :D

It sounds a bit like splay leg, which we've seen a few cases of on here. She probably won't have the lifespan of a normal bunny because the pressure on her internal organs is different with her legs not doing what they're supposed to, but you can keep her happy and clean for a while longer at the very least. A member Leaf had two young boy bunnies with splay leg (and some other problems too), and other members have had them as well.

She did the most normal thing a rabbit could do last night, she got her hind foot up and scratched behind her ear. I know too a lot of people they are probably like "erm your point?" My point is it was exactly like a normal bunny. She hops like a normal bunny, almost her one leg is just twisted the wrong way. Good lord I'm so happy ! When she was born she was born in someones garage in a plastic bottomed cage. It was probably slippery so that is probably how she got it. God bless her for not giving up!

This is exactly true--splay leg can be genetic, but if it can also be caused by housing youngsters on floor that's too slippery or uncomfortable. I'm glad she can clean her ears and is happy to be alive! When you've got a special needs bunny, it seems like all of those normal bunny behaviors are that much more precious when they do them.

I don't know that I would say Simon was a "needs" bun....but he certainly had his issues. I think because of them or perhaps in spite of them he had a awesome personality who captured ones heart and never let go...

Sometimes I wonder do we love them more because they need us so much, or because we need them....

I hope your little one lives a long and happy life...It is nice to see her find a home that will support and love her to pieces!!

All my best wishes to you!
