Hiya guys,

I know digging is totally normal for rabbits and all, but whenever ilet my new lop into the garden she goes straight to the side of thehedge into my neighbous garden, and starts digging. Everytime i let herout, she goes straight there. (I know they say the grass is alwaysgreener on the other side!) I have filled the hole up with bricks, ihave put flower pots on the hole, and she still is determined to get tothe hole and start digging. She never gives up.

My original rabbit Pepper, started digging the hole before i had Dotty, and she had managed to get through the hole atleast twice into myrather annoyed next door neighbours garden. Its as if Pepper has toldher to go there lol.

They both have a fairly big garden to run around, and lots of bushes tohide in etc. but Dotty just goes straight to the hole. The first timeshe ever went into the garden she was a bit weary of the hole then too.

At the moment i think i have cracked the hole being entered by flowerpots, but all Dotty does is go up and down the side of the flower potslooking for another way in. She will not give up.

Do any of you know why she is doing this? and how else i can prevent her to doing it? Thankyou for your time

I think I read somewhere that the only way tostop their digging out is tomake a trench and bury chickenwire or something similar down at least eight inches and secure the topto your fence.

Good luck with your digger!

Thankyou!

But do you know why she is so determined to dig that hole? My otherrabbit just digs holes in the middle of the garden, which i dont mind.

And why is it, when you try and fill in the hole they have dug, you never have enough earth to fill it back in? lol

Hee hee. I've noticed that with my dogs. I have to go get more dirt to fill in their holes.

Sounds like your girl wants to expand her horizons!

If Mocha has ever been somewhere before but is blocked off from it, shetries to go back. It really bothers her that she can't getback there and she'll try for weeks sometimes. She rememberedbeing in my bedroom for months after she was banned from it.

Thankyou! Hopefully she will go off the hole ina few weeks too! She seems to of given up at the moment but i bet anyminute now ive said that she will come running towards it.

I got them both spayed last wednesday, and they have calmed down a lotalready. I was begining to get worried that the dirt she was diggingout mighgt get onto her stitches, but it has all cleared up now and thestitches are all gone. Amazing how quickly they cleared up?!

Dotty is so obsessed! She is laying about 2 feet away from the holestarring at it. Like as if she is studying it and picturing in her mindwhat she can try next to get through the hole.

Thankyou all for your help! Hopefully she wont get nextdoor!
