I took the boys outside yesterday for the first time and they loved it!! digging in the mud, binking around, nibbling on the new grass we planted in the fall!! I want to build a dig box, bought 2 big plastic containers, what are some suggestions to fill it with???

I was thinking sand at first but I wasn't sure if it was safe for their eyes??? then newspaper was my second thought!! thanks so much!! I'll change it up every so often so they have different things!!!!

I started with a box of sand because I read somewhere that was good. Then the rescue place's director said sand could get in the eyes. Maybe this only applies when you have more than one rabbit, as the digger could get it onto another rabbit.

So I had a type of litter I didn't care for & used that. Fortunately, Honey never used it for its original purpose. Over time I've added bits of paper & cardboard she's torn up.

Also, I lined the plastic bin with a few bricks, so when Honey got down to the bottom she'd have something to wear her nails down with.

Lol, I tried one once and put shredded paper in it with a little surprise of some veggies on the side.... Well two hours later and he had peed and pooped all in it. I'm thinking I messed up along the way ugh!

yesterday I shredded up newspaper and put a few pieces of papaya in it!! they were in it for 2 hours!!! loooovvveeeeddd it!! it's hysterical!!! i'll change it up every so often so they don't get bored!!! thanks again!!!
