HAY! i'm extremely pleased cause i was concerned about their low hay intake before, but i was just wondering if anyone's got an explanation for this, or has experienced the same thing?

they are eating SO much more hay than they used to and instead of wolfing down their pellets almost instantly sometimes when i go to feed them more, there is still some in the bowl? we are going through hay twice as fast as we were previously...

i'm very pleased but also perplexed? is it just a coincidence or could the neuter have changed their feelings about food?

I think it may be a seasonal thing - many other rabbit owners I know are seeing an increase in hay consumption recently and my two have been eating more hay than I've ever seen before, while leaving half of their pellets from breakfast unfinished until the afternoon.

yes, mine have increase hay consumption like crazy, I am refilling hay racks everytime I walk by, and neuter had nothing to do with it, because they were just spayed this morning lol

A neutered rabbit generally needs less calories because they aren't quite so hyper about certain things and tend to relax more :)

Duh! I should've looked at where you were.

Not sure then! It could be the result of neuter, or maybe they just like your new batch of hay better.
