Well, long story short I have the show bug again. :p I used to show horses and loved it but it got way to expensive, as you can imagine. Then I realized we have this little bundle of beauty, Dewey. My mom purchased him from a breeder who show's and he has a pedigree. Dewey is only 3 months old, so he is still a baby. I don't know anything about rabbit showing but I do know we have a lot of shows in my area. His mane is just starting to fill in, I'm not sure if that's normal or not.

Tiny's mum or Pam nock would be the best to respond to your thread he looks nice though not to much skirt but quite a lot of mane.

Oh wow - what a cute lionhead - I LOVE BEWs and was going to work on breeding them for a while.

Pam is the best one to tell you if Dewey is show material. My biggest concern is his ears and how long they are.

Here is a link to the newest version of the Gibbons standard (I can share it because lionheads aren't officially a breed yet - so ARBA doesn't own the standard)...

Here is the part that concerns me about Dewey - and of course he is still young..

Ears - Points 5: Ears are to be short, well set on top of head, erect, well furred, of good substance and with a strong ear base. They are to be rounded at the tips. Ears should balance with the head and body. When relaxed ears will be carries in a slight V".
Faults - Ears that are pointed, lack furring, or do not balance with the body. Heavy wool more than halfway up the ear.
Disqualification from Competition: Ears that exceed 3-1/2 inches in length.

I think Dewey is ADORABLE and you ought to at least show him a couple of times to see what a judge says. Its really hard sometimes to judge a rabbit from pictures.

I agree with Peg - I'd certainly take him to some shows and see how he does.

From the front view, the mane looks rather sparse, and it's hard for me to tell from the photo if there's a break between the flank and the mane. I think his ears should be ok.
