I just heard, and am in shock and tears...it was only a week ago they were discussing plans to release him from the medical center soon...

I followedBarbaro&#39;s story after seeing his heartbreakingbreakdown in the Preakness, and prayed that there would be a miracle. Barbaro had fractured his leg in 20 places(!), yet - miraculously - his leg was healing well. He showed energy, vigor, and true strength of heart during his recovery. Yet in the end it was laminitis that caused him to lose his life...despite the enormous efforts by the medical team that surrounded him constantly throughout.

Here&#39;s to you Barbaro...you were a true champion...:bigtears:
